Smash it all and Strip it for Parts
Elon Musk will destroy the United States of America if given the opportunity. He’s been given, or seized, ample opportunity and is off to a hell of a start. This unelected, entitled, interloping man-child has spent the first weeks of the second Trump regime cracking open the government vaults and helping himself to sensitive information on private citizens, his business competitors, and everything in between. He’s also been taking aim at departments and organizations which directly affect his businesses, taking a hatchet to those investigating them.
Why exactly is Elon Musk trusted, or respected, by anyone? The reason for the respect, from people that actually understand who and what he is, is that he’s obscenely rich and powerful. Even if they don’t respect him as a person, they respect his money and power, because they are sheep in the cult of capitalism. The rest of the folks that seem to respect him are those who’ve been convinced by his wealth and power into believing that he is an intelligent, talented, and important person. A lot of time and money was spent on Musk’s persona of an eccentric and genius futurist. Those who’ve taken the time to read about his history, and just listened to and taken a good look at the man, know otherwise.
It is baffling that a political movement rooted in extreme nationalism, which is aggressively hostile to a whiff of anything at all foreign, and which purports to represent regular working people in opposition to global elites, has so readily celebrated the presence of this barnacle on their rotted figurehead. He’s a foreigner, an immigrant who’s been a US citizen less than half his life, an oligarch who cares only for himself and his interests and so manipulates international politics to his advantage, and who has nothing but disdain for normal, working, poor people and sees their only value being as serfs and cheerleaders. I wonder if Musk would be so well received by the MAGATs if he weren’t white. Not really; no wondering wasted; he wouldn’t be. If not for his pasty complexion, vaguely European accent, and Naziish ideologies and mannerisms, he’d not have seized the role of president-plus so effortlessly.
Musk views most, if not all, of us as NPCs: non-player characters, facsimiles of human beings that act as set dressing in a simulation to make the game more interesting for the player character, the only person that matters: him. Ironic, when he himself looks and acts like a poorly coded AI character. Some defend Musk, attributing his behaviors to him being on the autism spectrum. That is, I believe, unfair to those on the autistic spectrum and all neurodivergent people, the great majority of whom don’t treat other people as non-sentient automatons cluttering existence, or gleefully throw up Sieg Heil salutes. Musk’s more pertinent neurological characteristics are that he is a solipsistic, power-hungry and desperately needy sociopath.
The notion that Musk’s purported intention in the US government is to make it more “efficient,” out of altruism or patriotic spirit (for the country he purchased citizenship to just a couple decades ago for business purposes) or whatever, couldn’t be more ridiculous. Musk does not care about this country, other people, the planet, or reality itself. He will slash and burn it all, strip it for parts, and hoard every dollar he can, so that when the Earth is left an unlivable wreck, he can flee to Mars or cyberspace, or to the real world outside of the simulation that he apparently believes we exist in, with the highest score.
