Matt Gaetz’s Congressional Coup Cover-up

Virtually all recent news coverage of Matt Gaetz, the neo-fascist Florida Congressman who looks like he was bashed in the face by a cocaine cinder block after sexually assaulting it, is about the coup he led against Kevin McCarthy this past week. This is exactly what Gaetz was after. He is desperate and determined to flood news streams with this story, with any story that doesn’t discuss the allegations that he is a corrupt, thieving, drug-using, sex-trafficking criminal.

The Department of Justice may have chosen not to file charges against Gaetz, to the bafflement of the journalists who broke the story and have substantial evidence of Gaetz’s illegal and unethical activities, but there is little doubt in my mind that Gaetz is guilty. Just look at him. That is the face and demeanor of a man who takes bribes, steals campaign funds, pops molly, snorts coke, and pays to have sex with underage girls. It is the face of Colin Jost’s evil, ugly, unfunny, uncharming, evil doppelganger. It is also the face of a man who pees on poor people and strangles cats. It is the face of a man who wears a spiked codpiece and drinks the blood of orphan children, whom he orphaned.

Gaetz’s close friend, Joel Greenberg (seen here with Gaetz and fellow corrupt criminal neo-fascist, Ron Desantis), was charged with many of the crimes that Gaetz was accused of, and provided detailed evidence of Gaetz’s involvement in the crimes. If your close friend says that you did some illegal shit with them, and has the receipts to prove it, you very likely did that shit. You at least did some of that shit. It seems that charges weren’t filed because prosecutors weren’t one-hundred percent certain that they could prove Gaetz’s involvement and convict him. People have been brought to trial, and convicted, on much less evidence than has been presented against Gaetz. Granted, Gaetz is a rich, powerful white man, not a poor person of color accused of having several granules of marijuana in the carpeting of their car, so he’s immune to the American criminal justice system and has the right to do whatever the fuck he wants without being bothered by consequences.

All news stories about Matt Gaetz, who looks like Jack Nicholson’s Joker without the white face paint but with a white hood and robe in his bedroom closet, should address the all but certain likelihood of his criminality and deviance, and, ideally, how he’s facing justice for them. Instead, they’re focusing on how he’s sabotaging the government and his own party in service of the neo-fascist cabal trying to crumble the whole system and rule over the debris, if not in so many words. And that’s perfect for him. That’s probably exactly what he wants. Better he get attention for being a backstabbing, weaselly plotter of coups and government shutdowns than a fraudulent, thieving, trafficking sex criminal.
